AOS Deployment

Situation

Alstom's operating system (AOS) includes an Andon-style incident-reporting function, letting operators flag anomalies like quality issues, missing parts, or machine problems directly from the floor and routing them to the right team to resolve. This piece needed to be deployed on tablets across production, with support functions responding through their own PC login, and adoption was uneven across teams.

Role

Methodological support and change-management lead, mainly assisting key users and facilitating the change, since production wasn't really ready for it.

What was done

Attended AICs, production meetings also attended by support functions, to help embed the platform into routine use. Did change-management work on the ground, helping resolve problems that were overwhelming teams so they'd be more open to adopting the tool, and pushed support functions to report status and reasons, keeping them attributable.

Result

Site-wide AOS utilization moved from 66.7 percent in April to 71.8 percent in October.
