VA/NVA observation - Seat installation
Situation
A specific seat-installation workstation needed a clear, evidence-based read on where its time and value were actually going, since mobilizing outside teams to intervene required a case grounded in data rather than impression.
Role
Owned the floor diagnostic end to end, from observation through to reporting and action plan planning.
What was done
Observed the workstation directly, documented each problem as it surfaced, classified time spent as value-added or not, and calculated losses from cost factors provided by the business. Findings were reported back to project and industrialization managers.
Result
95 percent of observed time was non-value-added. Six figures already lost, with a further six figures identified as avoidable.
